If you are feeling unwell (eg stomach upsets or cold/flu symptoms) and/or have a temperature then massage is not advised  until your temperature has returned to normal and you feel better. Your body is working to deal with an imbalance and therapy in these circumstances will interfere with the bodies natural healing abilities and may make you feel worse. With stomach upsets I advise 48 hours to recover.
I use Songbird ® massage wax or fascial release wax (which are nut free and vegan) for massage which is suitable for sensitive skin; all laundry products are non-biological but If you have any known sensitivities to oils, creams, cleansers, lotion wipes or laundry products please let me know.
Before your first visit I will send a short questionnaire to complete and return. This to gather information about your general health, medical history, diet & lifestyle, any pre existing conditions and what you hope to achieve from the sessions. This information ensures that you receive the most appropriate tailored therapies and we can address any conditions that may make therapies contra indicated or require modifications
When we first meet (and at subsequent sessions) I’ll ask about any specific areas of concern or discomfort, explain the process and answer any questions you may have.
There is a private area to undress to your level of comfort** and lie face down on the massage table. You will be properly draped with a sheet and towel for privacy (and warmth) and I will then proceed with the massage, taking into account your preferences and any areas of focus you have discussed. After working on your back and back of legs I’ll ask you to turn onto your back for me to finish work on you legs and arms. At the end of the massage you can lie for a few minutes before having a drink of water and getting dressed again.

Following a session it is important to drink plenty of water (or non caffeinated liquids) to stay hydrated; try and have an easy day.

** sports shorts or underwear
We offer sessions in varying lengths to accommodate your schedule and needs.
Swedish and myofascial release are 45-60 minutes; Depending on your time availability a shorter 30 min option is possible
Hand & arm and Leg & foot are 20 - 25 mins

Massage therapy can be very effective in managing chronic pain. However, it’s important to discuss your specific condition with your therapist to determine the best approach for your needs.

The frequency of massage therapy sessions depends on your personal needs and goals. For general relaxation, once a month may be sufficient. For managing muscle tension, or chronic pain, weekly or twice monthly sessions might be more appropriate

IMPORTANT NOTE
These therapies do not cure or diagnose conditions and should never be used to replace conventional medicine. Andrea Slow Wellness does not provide medical advice or treatment. Medical questions, concerns, or lifestyle changes that may affect your health or pre-existing conditions should be discussed with your GP or medical team first.

I was nervous to start back to the gym after a long break but Andrea has encouraged me and helped support my new lifestyle and habits. She totally understands the adjustments needed for my medical conditions and mental health on the good and bad days My plan for out of the gym really helps me feel in control, I've learnt lots about myself and am more able to push through and make better choices.

Have now had two amazing massage therapy sessions with Andrea. From the moment I walked in, her attentive and caring nature put me at ease. Andrea took the time to understand my specific pain issues and the pressure I preferred, she then tailored the sessions to address them effectively

The massage was fantastic. The atmosphere was soothing, and Andrea is skilled and attentive, focusing on my specific needs. Also loved the massage oil she has selected (made with premium nut free oils) which just added to the whole great experience. I left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated.
